My story

Hi! I'm glad you're here! My name is Rachel Dillon. I live in New Haven, Indiana with my husband, Mason, and our sweet children; Juliet (5), Caspian (3), Banks (1) and another little baby girl who will be joining our family in October of 2022! Life is busy and chaotic and I am loving every moment of it! When I'm not wrangling three crazy kids I am usually teaching choreography at a community theater or an area high school, performing in a community theater production myself, or...of course, photographing amazing families like yours!

Photography has always been a hobby of mine. In college, I minored in media production. This encompassed photography and videography and I soon realized that it was something I really loved. After college, I began a career in corporate America where I sat at a cubicle all day. It was torture. When my daughter was born in 2017, I realized I couldn't continue with that career path any longer. I quit my job to be a stay at home mom and began photographing every waking moment of my daughter's life. I loved doing it and it brought me so much joy! I bought a Canon Rebel and began to hone my skills. I started posting photos on my Facebook and instagram pages to show off my cute baby. To my surprise, I had several people reach out asking how much I would charge to photograph their families! I had never considered making money from photography because...well...I loved it and it never seemed like a "job" to me! Could I really do something I loved AND get paid for it?! Five years, a little trial and error, and a lot of upgraded equipment later, and I can tell you the answer is yes! I truly love photography and I am so thankful that I am able to work doing something that makes me so happy!
